Dave Heineman is an American politician who served as the 39th Governor of the state of Nebraska from 2005 to 2015. Born on May 12, 1948, in Falls City, Nebraska, Heineman is a member of the Republican Party. His political career began in the early 1990s when he was appointed as the Nebraskan State Treasurer, serving from 1994 to 2001. Later, he was elected as the Lieutenant Governor of Nebraska in 2001, serving in that position until his predecessor, Mike Johanns, resigned in 2005.
