Erwin Chargaff (1905-2002) was an Austrian biochemist who made significant contributions to the field of molecular biology. Chargaff's experiments focused on the analysis of the four nucleotide bases that make up DNA: adenine (A), thymine (T), cytosine (C), and guanine (G).
